On Saturday Night, the Hadley-Luzerne Wesleyan Church hosted a chili dinner to help raise money for the local Walter Maxfield Food Pantry. This food pantry serves the Lake Luzerne, Hadley, and Stoney Creek families in need. Susan Johnson, Evelyn Lucia, Barb Mitchell, and 15 other volunteers teamed up to make the evening a great success.
We had over 110 in attendance despite the rough winter storm outside. Everyone warmed up with a bowl of chile, cornbread, and topped it off with apple pie. The opening musical act was our very talented teens from various community churches- “Nearly Tomorrow“. They created an awesome blend of voices and instruments. During the second half, “Neshama” performed acoustic folk music. There was an silent auction with many great items that were donated and auctioned off for the cause.
We are very blessed to say that we raise $1500! Every penny will go towards building up the food pantry in order to serve our community.
Thank you to every one who gave financially and volunteered to make the night possible. We are very grateful.
