***Please read this message carefully and in its entirety.***
This past week has been one of the craziest weeks of ministry I have ever had the privilege of offering. While I have felt, at times, inadequate to this task, I want to thank all of you for your gracious understanding and patience.
Let me cut to the chase: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the recommendations of the CDC and NYS and because this is the best way right now, to love our community and our church family–we are discontinuing our regular gathering on Sunday morning at the HLWC church building. No one will be present at our building.
In place of our physical worship service, we will be hosting an online service as a Facebook Watch Party. You can access this “watch party” on Sunday at 10:00 am by going to our HLWC Facebook Page. We strongly encourage you to “like” our page–by doing that, you will also receive a notification of when the service is beginning. When the service goes live, feel free to interact with the service by reacting or commenting, while you watch the video.
If, for whatever reason, you are unable to be present for our online watch party, after the event, we will also upload a recorded version of the service onto Facebook, YouTube and our website.
This is a unique time for our church. Because we cannot be physically present with each other at this time, I have had multiple discussions with our local board and ministry leaders. As an additional response during this time, we are amplifying the amount of content and opportunity that we offer you to be encouraged, connect and grow spiritually, including daily devotionals and online prayer meetings.
Watch your email and the HLWC Facebook Page to learn more about these ways to connect and minister to others during this time.
I know that I speak for the entire ministry team when I say that we love you. We care for you and we value you personally. It’s my supreme honor to guide you through this time as your pastor. Thank you so much for your trust. It humbles me when I think about it! Please pray for me to act wisely in this time.
May the peace of Christ be with you all!
